I am a self-taught animal portrait artist based in Yorkshire specialising in pastel and coloured pencil. I take commissions both nationally and internationally. After leaving school I attended the Leeds College of Art to study fine art and textile design. My passion for drawing and painting did not materialise until I began drawing animals many years later and this is where I found my love for art and the ability to share my love for animals. Animals have been a huge part of my life since I was a child, spending time observing their interactions and relationship with other animals, humans and their environments. I truly believe that eyes are a gateway to the soul and an important part of bringing an animal's portrait to life. I can often be found with my camera in hand, wild camping within the Yorkshire Dales taking reference photographs of the local farm animals and wildlife. In 2020 I was invited to become an associate artist for a Northumberland based pastel brand, Unison Colour Pastels.
